Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders hopes the momentum he built for his campaign will translate well for his ideal candidates in elections nationwide this fall.

On Wednesday night, Sanders will live-steam his announcement for the “Our Revolution” movement, which is described as "to get to work fighting for the political revolution through November and beyond," according to Sanders' website.

More than 2,000 meeting locations are planned, including one at the Hamilton Business Center in Allentown.

Lou Shupe said he expects a crowd of close to 25 to visit his meeting for Sanders' livestream watch event. He hopes Sanders will discuss his views on mass surveillance, as well as free college education and health care. In addition, Shupe hopes this will bring more progressive candidates who share his and Sanders' views into the political arena nationwide on the local, state and national levels.

"This will impact local elections, I'm hoping all across the country," said Shupe.

According to published reports, Sanders' "Our Revolution" movement has already hit a stop with controversy as top-level aides have resigned and questions remain about the funding and transparency of the movement.

"My hope is that Bernie will work it out and he has a tendency to work those types of things out," said Shupe.

Shupe's organized meeting will last from 8:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hamilton Business Center, located at 1101 Hamilton St., Room 307.

Another event will take place at United Steel Workers Local 6996, 1251 N. Front St., in Reading between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
